The Danger in Going to the Wrong Trucking School!
The majority of trucking schools rush you in the front door and out the back door with a CDL. You end up getting a job working for a break-in trucking company that cares more about moving loads than you or your CDL. A lot of these trucking companies are willing to look the other way if you bend the rules a little bit to get freight moved. That is if you even really know what the rules are and the consequences that go with breaking them.
Unfortunately going to a poor trucking school could result in you going to prison for a long time! That’s Right! Truck drivers are encouraged to fib a little on their log books by dispatchers to get loads moved on time. A log book is just a piece of paper right? No big deal! What could it hurt? You are just trying to make a living and get home on time without having to take another required break right?
Most trucking schools will come up short training you and informing you about these types of things and it is too bad. The truck driver in the article below claimed he didn’t know it was against the law in his jury trial. 20 log book violations and up to 5 years for each one!
Are you willing to go to prison for taking shortcuts when it comes to getting your CDL training and picking a truck driving school? You will be operating a commercial vehicle under federal rules and regulations. Learning to drive a truck is not a game and getting trained properly is crucial! If you are going to get a CDL please read this article and fill out a form to get the best CDL training you can get so you will never end up in this situation! Please fill out my form.

Truck Driving School Scams
You just can’t post this kind of material that alleges criminal activity without evidence. I have heard about everything from supposed sexual harassment/assaults and students being dropped off out in the middle of nowhere by over the road driver trainers. People being kicked out of company trucking schools and left with the bill to pay and blatant lies about pay and job descriptions.
Being the moderator of this blog and trucking school reviews gives me a unique perspective on these trucking schools because I see all the comments. Whether a comment is posted or not I can tell you that IT SEEMS THAT MOST THE BAD ONES ARE ABOUT THE SAME PLACES!
If you are looking to get your CDL and wish to avoid all this nonsense just fill out my form and I will forward it to one of the best trucking schools in the country that has a good reputation and can help just about anyone get their CDL. CDL Training form

Paid CDL Training
You will be asked to sign a contract, usually for one year, agreeing to work for that trucking company. If you break the contract you will be charged for the cost of the CDL training school. Usually the trucking companies that provide paid CDL training will put a large price tag on the cost of their CDL training if you break this contract.
Read these contracts very carefully and understand the consequences if you should change your mind during or after training. Paid CDL training is a good option for people with no money who do not qualify for a Government grant or a loan although there are other and sometimes better options.
There are other important factors to consider here also. Most of the trucking companies that offer Paid CDL Training over book their CDL training classes. Why do they do this? They know that some students will not be able to keep up with the fast paced training and drop out. Some people will not keep up and the trucking company school will dismiss them.
The fact of the matter is that they want the best trucking students driving their trucks. The problem with this for students is whether you quit, or are let go, you are responsible for the part of the CDL training you did complete. You signed a contract and if you were there for a 6 days, you will owe them thousands of dollars for the training you completed and have no CDL! It happened to several people in my CDL training class.
So if you are a slow learner, not mechanically inclined, or don’t perform well in stressful situations, I would go with a private CDL training school.
There are also private CDL training schools that have job placement assistance. Usually the trucking companies that these schools place you with offer tuition reimbursement. This is similar in that they will reimburse you for the cost of your CDL training usually over the course of one year of employment. It is the same as company paid CDL training in this respect.
The difference here is private schools make money from training students to get their CDL. Without students they don’t make money, so they will be more likely to get you your CDL without letting you go. If you choose this option just make sure it is a large CDL training school with several large trucking companies using the school as a hiring pool.
Paying for your own CDL training gives you the option to choose where you want to work with no commitment. This way you can avoid long term contracts with a low paying trucking company. Very few Truck Driver Training Schools are able to finance students any more but there are still a few schools that will, and one happens to be one of the best trucking schools in the country!

Company Paid CDL Training
You will be required to sign a contract, usually for one year, agreeing to work for that trucking company. If you break this contract you will be responsible for the cost of this training. Usually these trucking companies that provide company paid cdl training will put a big price tag on their cdl training and charge interest if you break this contract.
You should read these contracts carefully and understand the consequences if you should change your mind after training. Company paid cdl training is a great option for people with no money who do not qualify for a grant or a loan.
There are also independent cdl training schools that have job placement. Usually the trucking companies that these schools place you with offer tuition reimbursement. This is similar in the fact they will reimburse you for the money you spent for your cdl training usually over the course of one year of employment.
